Abstract:

The EDSM-III is the first survey within the framework of the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) project to include HIV testing. The Mali Ministry of Health was the first to request a study of the feasability of including an HIV test in the EDSM-III. The objective of the test was to estimate the rate of HIV prevalence at both the national and regional levels.
