Abstract:

The Nepal Family Health Program (NFHP) is a five-year program that began in December 2001 and covers 17 core program districts and 10 limited technical assistance districts. NFHP supports the strengthening of the district and community health system with a focus on family planning and maternal health services, and provides technical assistance for five national health programs, including family planning, safe motherhood, vitamin A, community based integrated management of childhood illnesses, support for female community health volunteers, and support for the national integrated logistics system. NFHP is being funded by USAID/Nepal. This series of reports provide an evaluation of a number of indicators that support the NFHP monitoring and evaluation plan, provide information on a baseline assessment, and annual assessments of the NFHP to monitor continuity in the delivery of USAID/Nepal-supported services. Funding for this project was provided by USAID through field support from USAID/Nepal. The FCHV survey was implemented by New ERA, a private organization based in Kathmandu. Technical assistance was provided by Macro International, Calverton, USA.
