Abstract:

In this study we provide a detailed examination of the nuptiality patterns and differentials in Nigeria, with a focus mainly on age of entry into marital union, and marital stability among cultural groups in Nigeria. These, together with variations in sexual activity within union, may shed important light on fertility differentials in the essentially natural fertility regime operating in Nigeria.
